@Timothy - that's cool!
@Joe - that looks promising. I've been working my way through various bits of fractal art forever. I wrote a "hopalong" IFS renderer on the Apple ][ back in the day. I think I might have got a start with Apophysis back in 2005 or 2006 (at least that's when I posted a couple on my DeviantArt page :) I find it pretty relaxing to noodle with these things. The flame algo is my favorite to date.

how long have you been making flames?
This is really reminiscent of a black hole or collapsing star system, all the matter being sucked in in a spiral, only to be blasted out in two polar jets.
